EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Four years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY:
Serve as Administrative Assistant to the Senior Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE), and as the point of contact for all business and community member outreach/ retention, and provide support to other CTE support personnel.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works front desk of office; welcomes anyone who enters the suite.
Answers the Senior Director's telephone and all incoming CTE phone calls, takes messages. Acts as back up to the CTE bookkeeper.
Assists Senior Director in preparing correspondence.
Assists Senior Director with "special project" initiatives.
Provides support to the Program Coordinator Career Readiness, Instructional Specialist, and Assistant Director as needed.
Assists in preparing the annual travel and summer conference memos.
Actively recruits & communicates with current and future business partners.
Maintains and updates NEISD Business and Industry Council Contact Information.
Manages the Sr. Director's calendar and schedule.
Inputs local travel for Sr. Director.
Manages the non-CRMS inventory system for items purchased through CTE office.
Manages the overall CTE office.
Helps produce Bi-Weekly CTE newsletter, to include staff shoutouts and social media posts.
Manages Social Media Account for CTE.
Oversees Blackboard communication for Magnet Informational sessions and CTE communication to community.
CTE POC for the NEISD Business and Industry Council College and Career Expo and Student Job Fair.
Proofreads Career and Technical Education (CTE) administrator memos, as needed.
Maintains the CTE office and personnel files.
Maintains departmental calendar to assure compliance with deadlines.
Aids with departmental inquiries and research of records for information.
Reserves all meeting rooms and prepares materials.
Enters CTE administrator absences into the SmartFind Express System, assists in travel preparation, and maintains local travel documentation.
Assists with the preparation of CTE Business and Industry Council meetings.
Assists with the preparation of monthly CTE Department Chair meetings.
Assists Senior Director with preparation for monthly CTE Magnet Program Director meetings.
Serves as the secondary CRMS administrator for the CTE Department.
Assists with reporting and preparations for evening and extra-curricular events.
Assists CTE Magnet Directors and teachers with inquiries and procedures regarding travel or equipment requests.
Assists in preparations for Career Night, CTE summer camps, and other departmental events.
Assists CTE Bookkeeper as needed and performs the local and Perkins bookkeeping duties in his/her absence.
Assists Magnet Program paraprofessionals, as needed.
Assists with the preparation of the annual CTE teacher Curriculum Day agenda, teacher packets, caterer arrangements, and memos to CTE teachers.
Maintains confidentiality of information.
Reports to work on time every day.
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
