Job Summary

Somerset Community College is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant II to support the Clinton Center Administrator. This position serves as a lead administrative support role for the Clinton Center, managing day-to-day operations, coordinating communication across programs and divisions, and maintaining sensitive and confidential information. The role requires strong organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced academic environment.

Job Duties:

Administrative & Office Management

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Clinton Center Administrator;
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the division, including greeting visitors, answering phones, and distributing mail;
  • Assist students with general questions about application process and financial aid;
  • Supervise Federal Work Study student workers and coordinate student work schedules;
  • Serve as Testing Proctor for onsite testing;

Coordination & Communication

  • Serve as a liaison between Clinton Center and other college departments, including Advising, Student Affairs, Business Office, Dual Credit, Maintenance and Operations, and Information Technology;
  • Coordinate meeting spaces, including scheduling, setup, and support needs;
  • Communicate operational needs and ensure timely follow-up;

Financial & Operational Support

  • Order office supplies and maintain inventory of departmental supplies;
  • Complete business office purchasing documentation;

Practical Nursing Program Faculty Support

  • Provide general administrative support for Clinton Center PN program faculty;
  • Assist students with the program application process by providing guidance and connecting them with appropriate staff and resources;
  • Maintain and organize confidential files and records related to the program;
  • Support the division with coordination of program activities, meetings, and special events;

General Support

  • Assist with handling confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion;
  • Support Center-wide initiatives, reporting needs, and accreditation-related documentation as needed;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate''s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related field and one year of related administrative experience or equivalent; experience to include office management and/or clerical support.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate''s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related field and one to three years of related administrative experience or equivalent; experience working with PeopleSoft, Starfish, or Blackboard.
