Administrative Assistant for the Mental Health and the Church Initiative
Primary Function and Responsibility
The Mental Health and the Church Initiative (MHC) at Biola University exists to foster flourishing in ministry leaders, churches, and Christian organizations. An arm of Biola's Rosemead School of Psychology, MHC provides research, resources, and services aimed at proactively improving mental health and well-being, especially for ministry leaders.
The Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support to the Executive Director of MHC. Responsibilities include maintaining event calendars, scheduling meetings, managing communications and travel arrangements, preparing correspondence and expense reports, organizing office supplies, creating presentations, supporting external constituents, and assisting with technology management. As a key point of contact for MHC, this position interacts with internal departments and external partners, including coaches, training participants, vendors, faculty, student workers, and ministry leaders. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, proactive problem-solver with exceptional written and oral communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proven expertise in building and maintaining administrative systems. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, strong multi-tasking capabilities, and an uncompromised commitment to confidentiality regarding student information and university operations.

The person who fills this position must be someone who personally agrees with Biola's Articles of Faith and Statement of Biblical Principles and who is supportive of the positions taken by Biola as contained in its Eschatology Teaching Position.
