JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

JOB TITLE: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Reports to: Principal
Bargaining Unit: CIA

Hours Per Day: 8
Start Time: 7:30
End Time: 4:00
Wage Range (Salaries are stated as an estimate only. Actual salary is confirmed only upon hire/job offer.)
$27.23 - $31.72 / hour
Note: Employees are paid the last working day of each month.

REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma (minimum)
May be required to pass a test to demonstrate skills
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Previous experience as a school Administrative Assistant
Skyward (WSIPC) and Cedars experience
Position Summary
The Administrative Assistant performs activities related to the total school environment, as well as bookkeeping and budgeting for Athletics and ASB, website and social media updates, Skyward/Cedars data entry and reports, and support to the front desk. The assignment is 4 hours at the elementary school and 4 hours at the jr/sr high school supporting the PI and CTE programs.

Supervision and Controls over the Work
The employee works with a high level of independence and professional discretion under the general supervision of a designated school administrator. The employee’s work is governed, controlled, and evaluated by acceptable professional practice, school and district policies and regulations, provisions of Washington Administrative Code and Revised Code of Washington, direction of the supervisor, and performance standards and expectations as set forth in the collective bargaining agreement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Confidential administrative assistant for building administrator.
Compile and edit various reports, correspondence, newsletters, and documents.
Perform a variety of office and secretarial duties.
Personnel management with regards to substitutes, employee absences, etc.
Data entry into school computer system (Skyward/Cedars).
Post updates to district and elementary website and calendar.
Work collaboratively with elementary school staff.
Attend job related training as determined by the district.
Possess a working knowledge of WSIPC and Skyward.
Ability to type/keyboard accurately 65 WPM with three (3) errors or less in five minutes.
Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet (Excel) and data base applications.
Exhibit poise, patience and professionalism in receiving and routing phone calls.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Possess a friendly, outgoing and flexible attitude.
Ability to work cheerfully with staff, students and parents.
Ability to respond appropriately and calmly to emergency situations.
Working knowledge of budgets and purchase orders.
Ability to organize, prioritize and complete tasks with multiple interruptions.
Administer prescribed medication to students as directed.
Support and facilitate volunteers and contractors, and process related applications/forms.
Schedule meetings and process room reservations.
Update office forms as needed.
A commitment to professional growth and attendance to job related training.
Demonstrated willingness to accept feedback related to job performance improvement.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work in outside weather conditions and be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, temperature fluctuations, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals commonly used in instruction and/or cleaning. It may be expected that the individual could be exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials during the course of their duties. The employee may be exposed to infectious disease as carried by students.

The employee may be required to travel on school owned or leased vehicles while supervising and assisting students.
