    Job Summary

    Adjunct faculty may teach 1 to 2 courses per semester. The candidate will be capable of teaching various levels of the undergraduate program, be proficient in traditional techniques, and have a broad understanding of new approaches to Photography. The interdisciplinary nature of the program requires that faculty maintain an active professional practice and meaningfully contribute to a variety of areas. Adjunct faculty are responsible for effectively teaching students in the assigned classroom or remote settings. Each adjunct faculty member is responsible for effectively implementing the mission of the Department of Design. Responsibilities may include teaching during the day or evening, with the potential for online only, in-person only, or a combination of both.

    Essential Functions

    • Teach required number of credit hours per quarter based on their contract.
    • Teach studio, lecture, and/or practicum courses per their contract.
    • Plan and provide instructional experiences that reflect an understanding of the philosophy, objectives, and curriculum of the program.
    • Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes.
    • Maintain communication with the program director regarding any course or student issues.
    • Perform other similar duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Photography.
    • Minimum 5 years of professional experience.
    • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Capture One and Lightroom.
    • Ability to teach evenings and/or weekends as assigned.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Minimum 3 years of teaching experience.
    • Advanced Degree(s).
    • Ability to teach online/remote classes.
    • Ability to develop new coursework.
