Job Summary The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) programs at SLCC offer introductory courses into the fields of Occupational and Physical therapy. We are looking for a faculty to teach these intro courses. Classes may be taught in person, online, or though Concurrent Enrollment off site at partnering High Schools. This is a pooled position. The department reviews applications as positions become available. The position is paid at $1,056 per instructional unit. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Effectively prepare and teach Occupational Therapy Assistant classes as stipulated in the course syllabi. Maintains accurate and complete student attendance records, grades, and other classroom documentation as applicable. Grades must be maintained on the College's learning management system. Demonstrate a depth of knowledge and understanding in the field of occupational therapy. Participates in trainings and other responsibilities as assigned and approved. Responds to department and college communication within two business days. Accept other duties as assigned. Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities. All Faculty will maintain an on-site campus presence to encourage in-person relationships and create engaging, meaningful, and impactful learning experiences unless approved for on-line only courses. You are employed as an Adjunct Faculty member/ Instructor on a contract-to-contract basis, with no future expectation or obligation for employment. Your employment may be terminated At Will at any time. You are required to maintain professional boundaries with all SLCC students.
