    The Department of Anthropology and Sociology offers programs in anthropology and sociology, including two distinctive sociology degree concentrations in Crime, Violence & Justice and Social Services, Policy & Advocacy. Faculty share a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and scholarship. Teaching emphasizes experiential learning and community engagement. Students enjoy opportunities for community involvement, study abroad, and internships taken for course credit, while advanced students pursue their own research interests through independent study and a senior capstone course. After graduation, students go on to careers in social work, law, and advocacy, as well as graduate school.

    Job Summary:

    The Department of Anthropology and Sociology at Drake University invites applications for an adjunct instructor position in sociology for the fall 2026 semester. The successful candidate will teach Introduction to Sociology to an engaged and committed student body. The class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:00am-12:15 p.m.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    A master's degree, PhD, ABD in sociology or a related field is required.

    Preferred Qualifications:
