Adjunct Instructor, Nursing Biochemistry

Position Description:

The Department of Natural Sciences invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor to teach lecture courses at the undergraduate level. Nursing Biochemistry is a 1-semester course specifically designed for nursing students. The course covers material in general, organic and biochemistry (GOB) with emphasis on units and molecular/organic structure. We have two immediate openings. An in-person course and an online version of the nursing biochemistry course. The meeting times and additional information are as follows:

Two course openings:

• The in-person course is scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:15-2:30 pm.
• Online - Asynchronous

Duties include delivering lectures in a classroom setting, administering exams, and grading students' assignments.

Qualifications:

The candidates should meet the following qualifications:

• Hold at least a MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
• College-level teaching and experience utilizing learning management systems (i.e.- Canvas) and technology in the classroom is highly desirable.

Compensation

Minimum: $5,000 per 4-credit course

Minimum: $3,750 per lab section

The actual pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, candidate qualifications and prior experience, scope of responsibilities, internal equity, and market considerations.
