Overview

The Womens and Gender Studies and Political Science Departments at Providence College are seeking an instructor to teach one section of our cross-listed Gender and Politics course for Fall 2026.

Duties and Responsibilities

Course Description:

PSC/WGS 380 Gender and Politics

A study of the political significance of the treatment, roles, and status of women, with emphasis on the United States. Examination of the meaning of gender, sexism, and feminism.

Cross-listings also include Black Studies and American Studies

Course Days/Meeting Time:

Monday & Wednesday 11:30 AM-12:45 PM

Education and Experience

Applicants should have Masters Degrees, be advanced PhD students, or have PhDs in hand, in Womens and Gender Studies, Political Science, or a related field wherein research or teaching centers women, gender, and politics broadly defined.

Supplemental Information

A curriculum vitae, cover letter, and three references are required with application. Additional materials (letters of recommendation, transcripts, and teaching statements) will be submitted upon request.

This course currently has 10 students enrolled. Course will be capped at 20 students. The Adjunct Instructor salary is $4,815 per course.
