    Position Overview

    We are seeking experienced practitioners with an advanced degree MA MPA MPP JD PhD etc. to teach a 1 credit course in Washington D.C. for 5 weeks during the Spring 2027 semester. The semesters interdisciplinary theme is Health Wellness and Sustainability" and how these broad themes intersect with public policy locally federally and internationally. We welcome your creativity to teach an undergraduate seminar on a specific topic based on your expertise. Ideas for course topics include but are not limited to:

    • Politics of US healthcare
    • Environmental politics law and policy
    • Emergency management community resilience and recovery from disaster
    • Politics of food and hunger
    • Environment & theology
    • Urban design sustainable city planning
    • public transit
    • role of municipal and local governments
    • Water quality watersheds and water health
    • Preservation of history art national parks etc.
    • Mental health
    • Environmental impacts of AI and tech
    • Energy policy renewable oil natural gas fracking tariffs trade etc.
    • Economics of happiness
    • UN Sustainable Development Goals for 2030
    • Global justice
    • Consumer protection and oversight
    • Criminal rehabilitation and restorative justice
    • Disability studies
    • Sustainability and climate change

    Duties and Responsibilities

    To teach you will need to have availability once a week for five consecutive weeks during the Spring 2027 semester. Classes will be held on Thursdays 12:30pm-3pm, 3:30pm-6pm, or 6:30pm - 9pm, or Fridays 9:30am-12pm, or 12:30pm-3pm.

    Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

    • Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree.

    Preferred Knowledge Skills and Abilities

    • 5 or more years of professional experience in the field or subject area of the course.
