Position Summary:
Temporary, part-time adjunct faculty in Geography, GIS, & Sustainability. Online and face-to-face teaching opportunities may be available for a large variety of courses.
Minimum Qualifications:
The Department of Geography, GIS, & Sustainability requires an academic degree in the discipline (Geography, Geospatial Technologies, Planning, Ecology, Environmental Studies, or Sustainability). Candidates for Lecturer position will have at least 18 graduate credits in appropriate discipline and must hold an M.A., M.S., or J.D.
GIS Courses
The Department has established a minimum threshold for tested experience when determining faculty qualifications to teach GIS courses by means other than earned credential. To be considered qualified through tested experience to teach a GIS course, an applicant must meet at least two of the following criteria:

Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate in a discipline appropriate to the one in which the candidate wishes to teach. Past record of successful college-level teaching experience in the discipline of employment. For online teaching, one or more semesters' worth of online teaching experience. Experience using the Canvas platform and with courses that have received Quality Matters approval is advantageous.
