Bethune-Cookman UniversityJob Title: Adjunct Faculty, Political Science Division: College of Arts & Humanities Reporting Structure: Department of Social Sciences JOB SUMMARY: Student-focused Political Science Adjunct Faculty able to use Canvas and to teach face to face. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Teach at least 2 courses in accordance with university and departmental policies and procedures Prepare course content and syllabus Prepare and submit timely grade reports and other reports on student performance Organize class activities and assignments, relating to the overall learning outcomes of the course Provide input and work with other faculty and staff to review, produce and/ or select course-related materials MINIMUM EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree in political science from an accredited educational institution Minimum of two years teaching experience at a college or university levels QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in political science from an accredited educational institution Extensive knowledge of the subject area(s) in which the individual is responsible for instruction Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and of effective instruction Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and challenges of university students Computer literate and able to navigate in Windows and Canvas software This position may be subject to a criminal background screening as a condition of employment Physical Requirements: • Working environment is a normal business office setting. • Demands normal manual dexterity and visual and auditory acuity. • Must be mobile throughout the campus. • Typically, the incumbent may sit comfortably to do the work.
