Description: The University of Houston Tillman J Fertitta Family College of Medicine (UHCOM) at the University of Houston announces a non-tenure track, Adjunct Faculty - Physicians, Patients, and Populations Small Group Facilitator.
This faculty will serve as a small group facilitator in the Physician, Patients, and Populations (PPP) Course, which spans 60 pre-clerkship weeks with 4 hours of weekly instruction. This course is critical to our mission of preparing physicians to deliver primary care in underserved communities with an emphasis on care that is evidence-based, high-value, and team-based.
Topics within this course include physician-patient communication, physical diagnosis, medical interviewing, clinical reasoning and decision-making, professionalism, medical ethics, population health, health informatics, quality improvement and safety, health systems and policy, interprofessional team-based care, behavioral health, and evidence-based medicine.
The faculty position will contribute to activities related to clinical skills, which includes interviewing, physical exam, documentation, and simulation.

Applicants must have a PhD and/or MD/DO from an accredited institution. Official transcripts are required for faculty appointment and will be requested upon selection of the final candidate(s).
Physician applicants must possess an unrestricted Texas Medical License and board certification in their specialty. While exceptions may be considered, approval must be obtained from the Vice Dean of Education and/or the Dean of the College of Medicine and the Office of the Provost.
