    Description

    The School of Optometry seeks a qualified individual to serve as an adjunct faculty/student success navigator to support student learning experiences and success in the Doctor of Optometry Program. The selected candidate will work primarily in a remote capacity, with responsibilities centered on academic mentoring, early identification of student challenges, and facilitation of student support strategies to promote progression and professional development. This role supports graduate-level Optometry students across didactic and clinical education.

    • Conducts prompt analysis and outreach to students to provide individualized academic coaching, mentoring, interventions, and success planning for Optometry students
    • Monitors academic performance and implements early intervention strategies for at-risk learners
    • Conducts meetings with at-risk learners remotely and/or in person as needed
    • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of student meetings, progress, and outcomes
    • Collaborates with course directors and faculty to identify and support student learning needs
    • Assists in interventions, remediation plan development, implementation, and follow-up
    • Coordinates with University student support services, including ADA compliance, counseling, and academic resource offices
    • Uses the University's learning management system, Blackboard, and approved communication tools, such as the Student Success Hub, to support student engagement
    • Engages in weekly meetings with School's administrative team in charge of student success
    • Submits end of semester reports on trends, student needs, and outcomes to the Dean and Associate Dean for Academic Programs
    • Provides assessment information to the program, including ongoing development of student support tools and processes
    • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor
