Job Summary:
Teach CCRI's three-credit Medical Terminology course, which is part of the Professional Studies curriculum within the Business and Professional Studies Department. This course introduces medical, diagnostic, symptomatic and surgical terms. Literal definitions and spelling are stressed.

Instructional Skills:
Teach CCRI's three-credit Medical Terminology course as assigned.
Teach students how to pronounce, spell, abbreviate, and define medical terms. Should be familiar with Blackboard Ultra Learning Management System.
Maintain flexibility and availability to offer courses during evening hours and Saturdays to meet the needs of working students.
Collaborate with program support staff and facilitators to provide wraparound services that support students throughout their educational journey and promote success.
Communicate course content and expectations clearly, demonstrating strong organizational, interpersonal, and instructional skills.
Utilize instructional technologies to enhance teaching, learning, and student engagement.
Assess student learning in alignment with established course outcomes and best practices.
Demonstrate creativity, flexibility, and a collaborative approach in working with diverse student populations and colleagues, in both English and Spanish.
Able to successfully complete the CCRI EPTO (Effective Practices for Teaching Online) course before any DL or Hybrid classes can be assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in related field or BSN-RN
Work experience in a medical setting.
Must know how to build medical terms - word roots, suffixes, prefixes, combining forms, and abbreviations.
