Position Overview
This Adjunct Faculty member teaches Journalism courses.
Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes
What you will be doing
- Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
- Evaluates and advises students
- Participates in departmental and College affairs
- Develops curricula
- Recruits students
- Serves on committees
- Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
- Masters Degree in Journalism or Mass Communications from a regionally accredited institution; or Masters Degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Journalism or Mass Communications from a regionally accredited institution
- Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must be able to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
- Ability to function well in a technological environment
- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
