Job Posting: Clinical Adjunct Faculty - Pre-Licensure BSN Program Missouri Southern State University - Department of Nursing
Position Start Date: Fall 2026 Semester
The Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) Nursing Department is seeking dedicated and student-centered Adjunct Faculty to teach in the Pre-Licensure BSN Program beginning Fall 2026. These positions support our commitment to preparing safe, competent, and compassionate entry-level registered nurses.
Position Overview
Adjunct Faculty will teach in one or more of the following areas:
• Adult Health Nursing • Pediatric Nursing • Foundational Concepts of Nursing • Skills
Schedule assignments vary by course and clinical needs, and flexibility is greatly appreciated. Adjunct Faculty are compensated on a per credit hour basis.
Teaching Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
• Facilitating student learning in clinical, laboratory, or classroom environments • Supervising students in hospital and community settings • Providing student coaching, evaluation, and performance feedback • Supporting course faculty with the implementation of the curriculum • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation related to student performance • Ensuring safe, effective, and professional practice within all learning environments
Schedule Expectations
Clinical Days: Thursdays and Fridays Class Days: Mondays and Tuesdays
The actual schedule is determined by course needs and faculty availability.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following:
• Required Unencumbered RN license in the state of Missouri or a compact state • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) • At least 2 years of experience as an RN working in acute care, specialty area, or community/school setting
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) • At least 1 year of teaching or clinical precepting experience (students or new graduate nurses) • Unencumbered RN license in the state of Missouri or a compact state • Prior experience teaching in a pre-licensure nursing program • Experience supervising students in acute care settings • Strong communication and professional mentoring skills
Will consider candidates with:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Currently enrolled in a Master's in Nursing (MSN) program • BSN-prepared nurse with documented teaching or precepting experience
All candidates must hold an unencumbered RN license (Missouri or a compact state).
