Job Summary The Division of Cross-Disciplinary Studies (CDST) at ETSU seeks qualified adjunct instructors for a variety of interdisciplinary courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, particularly in the areas of interdisciplinary theory and practice, design thinking, cultural studies, gender and diversity studies, STEAM studies, and leadership/workforce/ organizational studies. Courses are taught both online and on ground. Positions are temporary as needed, semester by semester, and do not include benefits. CDST houses both undergraduate and graduate interdisciplinary studies degree programs and is part of the Clemmer College of Education and Human Development. Its mission is to provide both interdisciplinary studies and degree completion options to a wide variety of traditional and post-traditional students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. All positions at East Tennessee State University are contingent upon sufficient funding.

Required Qualifications Candidates should have a documented background in interdisciplinary studies and/or interdisciplinary teaching experience.

Instructors for undergraduate courses must hold at least a masters degree in a relevant area from a regionally accredited university or international equivalent.

Instructors for graduate courses must hold a Ph.D or other terminal degree in a relevant area from a regionally accredited university or international equivalent; candidates with extensive professional experience may qualify with a masters degree under some circumstances.

Preferred Qualifications Previous experience or professional preparation in teaching post-traditional students/adult learners A defined area of interdisciplinary study and research activity
