Position Overview
This Faculty member teaches Botany courses.
Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes.
What you will be doing
- Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
- Evaluates and advises students
- Develops curricula
- Maintains department standards
- Recruits and participates in retention of students
- Serves on committees
- Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
- Masters Degree in Botany; or a Masters Degree in Biological Sciences (Cell Biology, Biology, Ecology, Evolution, Genetics, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Parasitology, Plant Science) with 9 graduate semester hours in Botany; or a Masters Degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Botany
- All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
- Preference will be given to applicants with (3) three years College level teaching experience
- Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work well with students and colleagues
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekend assignments
