REPORTS TO: PROGRAM DIRECTOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE/BIOLOGY
STATUS: PART-TIME, SALARIED
Lake Erie College, a small, co-educational, four-year, independent liberal arts college located in Painesville, OH, 30 miles east of Cleveland, invites applicants for Adjunct Faculty, Biology reporting to the Program Director of Environmental Science/ Biology.
Responsibilities:
- Teaches in-person undergraduate introductory-level laboratories in Biology II (three laboratory sections on Tuesday). Laboratories focus on biodiversity, ecology, and evolution.
- Works from provided syllabus and engages students in activities in alignment with the course description and student learning outcomes.
- Provides assessment of students and supports college assessment needs.
- Uses collaborative approaches, instructional technology and innovative methods.
Preferred Qualifications & Key Competencies
- Minimum of a Master's Degree in Biology, or closely related field provided the applicant's transcripts demonstrate completion of at least 18 semester credit hours (or equivalent quarter hours) of specific coursework in relevant field.
- Demonstrates a commitment to excellence in teaching in a liberal arts college environment.
- Must be able to teach in person.
- The candidate must have a growth and "doer" mindset; an institutional teamwork ethic; be creative, strategic, thoughtful; and have a sense of humor.
