    Position Title Adjunct Culinary Arts Instructor/Menu Development Job Duties

    Butler Community College is seeking an industry professional to serve as an Adjunct Instructor of Menu Development. This course covers the intersection of culinary creativity and commercial business logic. Rather than teaching general kitchen skills, the successful candidate will train students how to strategically plan, price, design, and optimize menus for maximum consumer appeal and fiscal profitability across diverse food service models. Must have open availability. Duties include preparing class lesson content and assisting with events within the culinary and hospitality departments.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required knowledge and skills

    • Expertise in recipe costing, yield percentages, food waste tracking, and retail pricing strategies.
    • Knowledge of menu design (popularity vs. profitability) and data-driven menu optimization.
    • Talent for breaking down complex financial and operational data into clear, engaging lessons.

    Required experience

    2 years in industry.

    Required educational background

    • Minimum Required: HS Diploma or GED required.
    • Preferred: Associate's or Culinary Degree.
