    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    Day, Evening and Saturday Classes

    SUNY Suffolk is searching for in-person Adjunct Instructors in Construction Technology beginning in the Fall 2026 semester to teach classes at the Ammerman Campus in Selden, NY. SUNY Suffolk is a comprehensive community college committed to open access, equity, and student success, and candidates for adjunct faculty positions should be prepared to demonstrate their commitment to these values.

    Instructors must have a Civil Engineering, Architectural or Construction Management background to teach one of the following courses: Surveying, Statics, Strength of Materials, Construction Methods, Print Reading for Construction, Estimating and Scheduling, Green Building Principles and Professional Practices in the Construction Industry.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, architecture, architectural technology, or construction management.
    • Master's degree in civil engineering, architecture, architectural technology, construction management or Professional Engineer (PE), Architectural Registration (RA) license, or Land Surveyor (LS).
    • Two (2) years of recent relevant professional experience.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Teaching experience at the college level.
    • Proficiency with AutoCAD version 2023 or newer for 2D drafting.
    • Proficiency with Revit version 2023 or newer for 3D modeling.
    • LEED AP or GA.

    HIRING SALARY:

    This is a Unit III position covered under the Faculty Association of Suffolk County Community College collective bargaining agreement with the college.
