JOB TITLE: Adjunct Faculty
DEPARTMENT: Science and Mathematics
COLLEGE: Arts, Sciences, and Technology
REPORTS TO: Science and Mathematics Department Chair
UNIVERSITY MISSION: Rochester Christian University is a Christ-centered institution that empowers students to lead lives of personal and professional significance while serving God in a changing world.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Science and Mathematics Department is seeking applicants for adjunct faculty positions for several biology courses. In-seat classroom positions are available. Required qualifications include a discipline-related master's degree or a master's degree and at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline. Candidates with terminal degrees and other specialized training are also highly desired.
Adjunct contracts are less than part-time and made on a semester-by-semester basis, but often result in recurring assignments within a regular course rotation. Adjunct openings often occur on short notice as additional sections of classes open based on enrollment numbers. Applications are always welcome.
The Science and Mathematics Department consists of five faculty members who share a vision to develop professionals who recognize the value of stewardship and care in God's world. Adjuncts are a significant part of our community and are invited to participate in department meetings, university activities, and mentorship initiatives.
A successful candidate must articulate a Christian worldview within the discipline and teaching practices, and fully support the University's mission. Indicators of this support include a demonstrated personal faith in Jesus Christ and being active in a local church.
