Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting applications for the temporary up to 18 months full-time position of Adjudication Clerk in Community Safety.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Support Services, the Adjudication Clerk serves as liaison between the Community Safety Business Unit and HRM Legal Services with regards to prosecution referrals, subpoenas and summonses, and summary offence ticket administration. The Adjudication Clerk works with the Municipal Clerk's Office to track appeals submitted to the Appeals Standing Committee regarding dangerous and unsightly or demolition orders and prepares staff reports for the Committee on behalf of Compliance Officers. The Adjudication Clerk is also the point of contact for property owners wishing to initiate invoice reviews, and is responsible for analysing disputed invoices and cases, and making recommendations to the Manager on the validity of claims. They ensure the Compliance and Remedy process has been completed in accordance with municipal and provincial legislation and established policies and procedures.

WORK STATUS: Temporary, full-time.
HOURS OF WORK: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00 pm; 35 hours per week. Flex options to work outside of these hours & hybrid may be available.
SALARY: Level 6; $34.87 per hour as per NSGEU Local 222 Collective Agreement.
WORK LOCATION: 7 Mellor Ave. Dartmouth NS. Work location can be changed according to operational requirements.
