Description

Our client, a reputable healthcare provider operating a large and busy outpatient addiction program serving patients from adolescents to adults, is hiring a Board-Certified Addiction Psychiatrist to join their dedicated team. This role offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary environment focusing on comprehensive addiction treatment and mental health care, with a significant impact on patient recovery and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations for patients with dual diagnoses of mental illness and substance use disorder or substance use disorder alone.
  • Provide follow-up medication management visits, overseeing pharmacologic treatment plans.
  • Collaborate closely with therapists and counselors to develop and implement individualized care strategies.
  • Manage outpatient withdrawal protocols and administer pharmacologic agents such as Suboxone, Sublocade, and Vivitrol.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Participate in occasional call schedules, which are typically voluntary but may be assigned as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all clinical and safety protocols related to addiction treatment.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Psychiatry.
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state.
  • Proven experience in outpatient addiction treatment settings, including work with dual diagnosis patients.
  • Familiarity with prescribing and administering pharmacologic agents for substance use disorder.
  • Competence in outpatient withdrawal management protocols.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Experience working with adolescent patients preferred.
  • Additional certifications in addiction medicine or related fields preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 yearsÂ’ experience working as an Addiction Psychiatrist in an outpatient setting.
  • Prior experience in prescribing medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use disorder.
