ADABAS Database Engineer

Job Description 

The incumbent will: Be responsible for installing and supporting a broad range of Software AG (SAG) and other third-party vendor products to provide a stable technical infrastructure upon which the business depends. Be responsible for the conversion of products between major releases.

Requires a strong technical background in all mainframe technologies with extensive hands on experience.

Require extensive hands on experience in an MVS operating environment as well as system utilities. Have a high level of knowledge of all SAG products, and an ability to work with them in a highly customized environment.

Require ability to install the products, code/revise customizations using a variety of technologies (including Assembler/Cobol/CICS), and debug complex system problems (including dump reading and performance and tuning).

ISPF, MVS Utilities, CLISTS, and JCLCICS knowledge

Strong Assembler language knowledge

Strong Cobol language knowledge

System Programming skills

Project Management skills

Analytical thinking

Conceptual thinking Minimum

EDUCATIONAL and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS University Degree (B.S.) and at least 5 years technical experience
