    Position Description:

    Job Title: Recreation & Sports Activity Leader

    Classification: Non-Exempt

    Hours Per Week: Full time & Part time Hours Available. 

    Reports to: Site Coordinator/Director

    Locations: Lake Forest

    Primary Function:

    Under the supervision of the Site Director, the sports, fitness & recreation activity leader will assist the program directors to implement and supervise activities for youth ages 5-14. Guiding members to participate in recreational games, activities and organized sports to learn basic game/sports fundamentals, good sportsmanship and development of healthy lifestyles in a safe, fun and creative environment.

    Key Roles:

    • Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes.
    • Promote and stimulate program participation.
    • Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
    • Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the facility at all times.

    Skills/knowledge Required:

    • High School Diploma or GED or attending college or re-entering the job market.
    • Experience working with children/youth/teens.
    • Knowledge of youth development.
    • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
