Activity Assistant - Wrestling

JOB DESCRIPTION ASSISTANT COACH Date: 3/21/2007 QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Eligibility for Wyoming certification through the Professional Teachers Standards Board with endorsement as an assistant coach in assigned sport

Such additions or exceptions to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable REPORTS TO: Head Coach JOB GOAL: To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITITES:
4. Appreciates the worth and dignity of each individual and treats each one with respect and tolerance.
5. Assumes responsibility for the academic area of instruction as his/her primary concern as appropriate.
6. Coaches each individual participant in the skills necessary for achievement of his/her fullest potential.
7. Enforces disciplined and sportsmanlike behavior.
8. Provides a safe environment for all practices and competitive events.
9. Works closely with the head coach to provide continuity and smooth operation of the program.
10. Adheres to the rules and regulations of the Wyoming High School Activities Association.
11. Follows District policies and procedures.
12. Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the head coach and/or assistant principal/activities/athletic director TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: At-will employee. Compensation according to salary schedule adopted by the Board of Trustees; duration of coaching season according to guidelines set by the Wyoming High School Activities Association EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Assistant High School Principal/Activities/ Athletic Director and Head Coach.
