Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and lead a variety of activities, events, and programs tailored to the needs and interests of the community.
- Develop monthly and seasonal calendars that promote engagement, participation, and overall well-being.
- Build positive relationships with participants, families, staff, and community partners to support successful programming.
- Oversee activity supplies, budgets, scheduling, and transportation needs as applicable.
- Encourage participation by creating inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable experiences for a diverse group of individuals.
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to align activities with organizational goals and care or service plans.
- Coordinate special events, celebrations, outings, volunteer opportunities, and group functions.
- Maintain accurate records related to attendance, program outcomes, and required documentation.
- Monitor the effectiveness of activities and adjust offerings based on feedback and participation trends.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in recreation, event coordination, programming, social services, or a related field preferred.
- Experience interacting with the elderly and those with memory care needs
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop engaging, varied, and meaningful programming.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
- Comfort using basic technology for scheduling, communication, and recordkeeping.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in recreation, gerontology, hospitality, or a related area is a plus.
