Description

Champlain Valley Senior Community is seeking an energetic, creative, and compassionate Activities Coordinator to help provide meaningful recreational, social, physical, and cognitive programs for residents in our Assisted Living, Enhanced Assisted Living, and Memory Care community.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with planning, preparing, and leading daily activities and special events

• Encourage residents to participate based on their interests, preferences, abilities, and individualized needs

• Lead activities such as games, arts and crafts, music, exercise, social gatherings, celebrations, and cognitive programs

• Adapt activities for residents with dementia, physical limitations, or other special needs

• Provide individual activities and visits for residents who cannot or prefer not to attend group programs

• Prepare activity rooms, supplies, decorations, refreshments, and equipment

• Escort and safely assist residents to and from programs and events

• Help supervise community outings and transportation activities

• Maintain the activity calendar, participation records, and other required documentation

• Observe residents during activities and report concerns or changes to the appropriate supervisor

• Keep activity areas, supplies, and equipment clean, organized, and safe

• Take appropriate photographs during approved activities for community updates and marketing purposes

• Build positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, coworkers, and community partners

• Protect residents’ privacy, dignity, safety, and independence

• Follow all facility policies and emergency procedures

• Assist with evening, weekend, and holiday programs as scheduled

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in senior living, memory care, recreation, activities, education, or a related field is preferred

• Compassionate, patient, dependable, creative, and enthusiastic

• Comfortable leading both small- and large-group activities

• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively with older adults, including residents living with dementia

• Basic computer and documentation skills

• Ability to safely perform the physical duties of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting supplies, and assisting with activity equipment

• Must successfully complete all required background checks, health requirements, training, and employment documentation

Schedule:

Full-time and part-time opportunities may be available. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability may be required based on the activity schedule.
