LICENSED ATHLETIC TRAINER

The Licensed Athletic Trainer provides comprehensive athletic training and healthcare services to student-athletes participating in the districts interscholastic athletic programs. The primary responsibilities of the position include the development and implementation of programs for the prevention of athletic injuries; evaluation and treatment of injuries; administration of first aid and emergency medical care; development and administration of rehabilitation programs; and coordination of appropriate return-to-activity and return-to-play protocols.

Job Description

Position Timeline:

Immediate start

Work Year: 10 months

Salary Range: $52,000-$60,000, plus benefits package

Qualifications/experience

  • Previous experience as an athletic trainer in a secondary school or interscholastic athletic setting.
  • CPR/First Aid and AED certification (instructor certification strongly preferred).
  • Experience with concussion management and return-to-play protocols.
  • Knowledge of Connecticut interscholastic athletic regulations and requirements.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with students, families, coaches, administrators, school nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
