Activities AideDepartment: Long Term Care FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Activity CoordinatorPosition Summary Assist the Activity Coordinator in providing activities programs for all residents, responsible for helping with physical, educational, or social activities in a variety of settings. Duties will revolve around assisting residents or patients with use of equipment, and planning and monitoring their participation in various activities and outings.Essential FunctionsAssists the Activity Coordinator in the planning, development, and implementation of activities/programs which enrich the lives of the residents.Develop and lead small, medium and large group activities.Contribute to residents' care planning: assessments, care plan goals and approaches, and progress notes.Assist with documentation.Conduct one-to-one programs.Assist with field trips and outings, which may require the operation of a company vehicle.Other duties may be assigned.Qualifications/EducationHigh School Diploma or GEDCurrent CPR and First Aid Certificates to be obtained within 6 months of employmentCurrent driver's license (must be 21 years of age due to CCMSD insurance policy stipulations)ExperiencePrevious experience in a long term care setting preferred.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExcellent patient care skills.Professional and discrete manner at all times.Ability to communicate effectively and verbally as well as the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.Ability to work independently and with supervision.Good driving record and ability to drive safely in various weather conditions.Hours of Work 40 hours per week
