PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION: - Education and/or demonstrated skills and abilities:
A. High School Graduate or GED equivalent or enrolled in high school if below 18 years of age, - Training and Experience:
- Experience in a recreation setting preferred.
- On the job training accepted.
- Personal Qualifications:
- Must be able to exercise judgement where procedures cannot be standardized.
- Must exhibit a spirit of cooperation.
- Must have a pleasant personality.
- Able and willing to work with a variety of people.
- Must be able to use common sense and be a fair judge of character.
- Be creative and have a sense of imagination.
- Empathetic approach to the elderly.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Posting monthly activity calendars in resident's rooms.
- Supply a weekly movie from library.
- Assisting with residents to and from activities.
- Keep attendance of activity daily, and then turn into Activity Director.
- Leading of group activities as planned and scheduled.
- Initiating and motivating 1-1 activities with residents not attending group activities.
- Assisting with residents' community outings as scheduled.
- Assisting with special events, planning, leading and etc.
- Reports to Activity Director on residents' responses and/or progress.
- Reports needs of supplies to Activity Director.
- May be responsible for general housekeeping duties in activity area.
- Attend in service training as scheduled.
- Communicates with nursing for purpose of assisting in transporting residents to activities.
- Abides by policies of facility.
- Performs other related duties as directed by Activity Director.
