    Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

    Job Summary

    Sigma Systems is seeking an Active Ingredient Technician to support vaccine component preparation in an aseptic cleanroom manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in biological manufacturing, laboratory operations, cell culture, virus culture, aseptic processing, cleanroom environments, or pharmaceutical/biotechnology production.

    The technician will perform production activities according to USDA regulations and standard operating procedures (SOPs) while maintaining accurate documentation, supporting troubleshooting and investigations, and following strict EHS and quality requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform activities associated with the preparation of vaccine components in an aseptic cleanroom environment.
    • Utilize virus and cell culture techniques according to applicable USDA regulations and established procedures.
    • Follow and comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs) during manufacturing processes.
    • Assist with training and coaching new and existing employees on required processes and technical skills.
    • Complete and review in-process documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
    • Maintain technical data, records, and supporting documentation in a timely manner.
    • Participate in root cause analysis and help implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
    • Identify and escalate production flow disturbances and process issues.
    • Demonstrate a strong commitment to Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and initiatives.
    • Support continuous improvement activities and individual performance improvement initiatives.
    • Participate in site projects and initiatives, including deviation and change control management.
    • Assist with equipment and automation troubleshooting when required.
    • Work effectively as part of a cross-functional manufacturing team.

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field preferred.
    • At least 1 year of laboratory and/or manufacturing experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of cleanroom operations and aseptic techniques.
    • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
    • Basic mathematical skills.
    • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and automated manufacturing systems.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database/software systems.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to follow detailed procedures and quality requirements in a regulated manufacturing environment.
