Acoustic Wave Device Modeling and Design Intern
Role Overview:
As a member of the Advanced Filter Development Team, the Acoustic Wave Filter Development Intern will work alongside experienced engineers providing mentoring, guidance, and introductions to colleagues.
This Internship with MACOM will help the Intern to gain valuable work experience in acoustic wave filtering solution development, build professional relationships, and take ownership of a business-critical project.
During the 12 weeks each Intern will:
Requirements:
Minimum Educational Requirements: Currently enrolled as a Bachelor's college student in electrical engineering, applied physics, materials engineering, or mechanical engineering and at a minimum in their 3rd year of college study.
Preferred educational requirements: Current graduate student pursuing a PhD degree in electrical engineering with a strong background in microfabrication, MEMS, thin-film bulk acoustic wave and Lamb wave devices.
Prerequisite Skills and Experience:
Familiar with multi-physics finite element modeling, semiconductor microfabrication processes (e.g., photolithography, PVD, CVD, wet and dry etching, etc.), and/or RF characterization.
Additional Desirable Skills:
Proficient in device physics of acoustic wave devices, acoustic wave filter design, piezoelectric multi-physics finite element modeling; hands on experience in semiconductor microfabrication processes (e.g., photolithography, deposition with sputtering, MBE, MOCVD, RIE, etc.), and/or hands-on experience with wafer-level RF characterization.
The hourly Range for this position is $20 - $47 per hour. Actual salary offered to candidates will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates' experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
