What you’ll do

• Own routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on ACME, Wickman, and other multi‑spindle screw machines to keep uptime high.
• Diagnose root causes and complete timely mechanical repairs—both major assemblies and minor fixes.
• Operate screw machines as needed to support schedules and validate repair outcomes.
• Assist with setups/changeovers, calculate feeds and speeds (RPMs), and verify geometry for new runs.
• Inspect for wear, anticipate failures, and recommend component replacement or PM enhancements.
• Document maintenance activities, repair details, and parts usage with precision.
• Advance preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement projects to raise reliability.
• Support tooling changes, upgrades, and process improvements that lift quality and throughput.
• Guide operators on safe operation, proper care, and basic maintenance routines.
• Ensure every task meets safety policies and quality specifications; take ownership of results.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What you bring

Education

• High School diploma or GED.

Experience

• 5+ years setting up, operating, maintaining, and repairing ACME or Wickman multi‑spindle screw machines.
• Manufacturing maintenance background with strong troubleshooting; preventive maintenance experience preferred.

Technical capabilities

• Expertise in mechanical troubleshooting and repair on ACME and Wickman machines.
• Hands‑on with cams, gears, center height adjustments, Reed thread roll heads, and tooling setups.
• Proven ability to calculate feed rates, RPMs, and machining geometry.
• Skilled at sharpening and maintaining production tooling, including cut‑off blades.
• Reads blueprints/mechanical drawings; comfortable with tooling documentation and engineering specs.
• Uses micrometers, calipers, indicators, and thread gauges accurately.
• Understands metals, alloys, machining principles, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and clear verbal communication.
• Self‑directed, organized, and effective in fast‑paced production.

Working conditions

• Lift, climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull.
• Stand and/or walk continuously.
• Moderate physical effort—frequently handle 10–50 lbs or continuously handle lighter weights.
• Operate in hot, dusty, and noisy environments.
• Overtime and some weekends required based on sales demand.
