Accounts Receivable Specialist $25-$30 an hour
Job Overview
We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support our client's accounting and finance team. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate customer accounts, processing and applying payments, monitoring outstanding balances, and assisting with collection efforts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable communicating with both customers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Process and accurately apply customer payments and cash receipts
Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on past-due balances
Contact customers regarding outstanding invoices and payment status
Research and resolve billing discrepancies, short payments, and unapplied cash
Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate AR records
Assist with invoice preparation and distribution as needed
Partner with internal teams to resolve billing and payment issues
Maintain documentation related to customer accounts and collection activity
Assist with month-end close and AR reconciliations
Prepare reports related to receivables, collections, and account activity
Support additional accounting projects as needed
Key Qualifications
1-3+ years of accounts receivable, collections, billing, or related accounting experience
Experience with cash application, reconciliations, and collections
Working knowledge of accounts receivable and basic accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with ERP/accounting systems preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to research and resolve account discrepancy
