Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts receivable for a high-volume personal injury practice.
- Track outstanding balances and proactively collect payments from insurance companies and defense firms.
- Develop and implement effective collection strategies to minimize outstanding receivables.
- Ensure accurate and complete processing of client settlements.
- Review and identify opportunities to negotiate and reduce client medical bills.
- Negotiate with medical providers and insurers to secure favorable settlements for medical expenses.
- Maintain meticulous records of all settlement payments, medical bill negotiations, and related correspondence.
- Provide support and assistance to other firm operations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounts receivable, collections, or a similar role, preferably within a legal or medical setting.Proven negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies and healthcare providers.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Online a plus) for managing accounts receivable data.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of personal injury law or medical billing practices is a strong asset.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, or equivalent work experience.
