Position Overview for the Accounts Receivable Representative:

  • Responsible for healthcare payment posting, including manual and electronic processes.
  • Apply and reconcile remittances, EOBs, EFTs, ERAs, and 835 files to ensure accurate cash application.
  • Investigate payment variances, allocate unapplied/lump sum payments across multiple accounts, and resolve denials efficiently.
  • Work with payer rules and secondary/tertiary payment logic across multiple payers and dates of service.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders as needed to support revenue cycle integrity and improve posting workflows.

Requirements for the Accounts Receivable Representative :

  • 3–5 years of experience in healthcare payment posting (manual and electronic)
  • Strong knowledge of EOBs, EFTs, ERAs, COB, and 835 file interpretation
  • Familiarity with payer rules (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, Workers' Comp) and contractual adjustments/proration logic
  • Prior experience with complex denial resolutions and reconciliation of unapplied payments
  • Ability to use Interactant (HCS), WellSky, or other EMRs/payment posting systems comfortably
