Overview: Under the direction of the Revenue Cyle Director and the Billing Manager, the accounts receivable rep primary responsibility is to perform collection and follow up activities relate to claim payment for all claims submitted. Responsibilities may also include billing, posting payments and performing simple arithmetic computations. Work performed according to established procedures and is reviewed and monitored regularly. Appeals and denials, resubmit claims, and perform follow though on all outstanding balances. Search for patient demographics and insurance. Run collection reports/workflows for all unpaid claims. Reviews, corrects, and classifies invoices for accuracy and completeness. Prepares credits or refunds when required and forwards to accounts payable. Determine if additional documentation is required to process the claim. Determine and obtain when additional documentation is required prior to submission. Knowledge of how to post and collect payments received. Knowledge of how to obtain patient demographics and insurance. Communicating with insurance companies, and patients regarding claims. Knowledge of how to resolve unpaid claims. Ability to meet productivity standards and goals. Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turn around times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar role High School diploma or equivalent Understand Zoll software, Waystar, Sansio preferred. Knowledge of CMS regulations Electronic claim submissions and remittance procedures and electronic posting Commercial insurance claim requirements Must be highly organized Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA Rules Excellent customer service skills. Excellent (or established) interpersonal skills. Knowledge and expertise with Microsoft products preferred, specifically Excel and Word. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Computer proficiency preferred Physical Requirements of Job: Physical Skills: Normally assigned to work in an office environment where there is little exposure to dust, dirt, and noise. Must be able to sit for long periods. Auditory Activity: Good skills to distinguish sounds at normal conversation levels. Sensory Activity: Normal motor skills are required, such as being able to type using a computer keyboard or the ability to drive an automobile. Verbal Activity: Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of employees, patients, families, co-workers, and public groups.
