Description

Meador an Openwork Company is currently seeking a dependable Accounts Receivable Clerk to join a growing safety equipment supplier in Houston, TX. This is a great opportunity for someone with Admin experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs Accounts Receivable and general accounting duties accurately, efficiently, professionally, and confidentially while complying with company policies and safety/quality standards.
  • Handles A/R inquiries, customer correspondence, invoice requests, and account updates.
  • Processes daily cash receipts, deposits, credit card transactions, wire transfers, credits, and payments; posts transactions and maintains accurate account records.
  • Monitors A/R aging and conducts collection activities, documenting payment commitments and follow-ups.
  • Researches and resolves disputed invoices, payment discrepancies, customer claims, bad checks, bank fees, and potential bad debt.
  • Maintains organized financial records and supports reconciliations, accounting entries, year-end inventory, filing, and other accounting functions.
  • Provides backup and cross-training for coworkers and assists other departments as needed.
  • Maintains professional relationships with customers, vendors, and employees and supports the company’s overall goals.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Typing speed of 25–40 WPM; 10-key experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills with the ability to follow written, verbal, diagram, and schedule-based instructions.
  • No certifications, licenses, or registrations required.

Location: Houston, TX

Pay: $20/hr

Schedule: Mon - Fri 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
