Accounts Payable Specialist, Senior

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist, for a long term contract role in the far Westend of Richmond, VA.

Are you someone who enjoys solving complex problems and keeping payments on track. In this highly visible role, you will serve as a go-to resource for invoice, vendor, and payment issues while partnering with teams across the organization.

Duties:

• Take ownership of difficult invoice, payment, and vendor questions that require additional review.
• Research payment exceptions, system errors, and workflow issues, then follow them through to resolution.
• Reconcile vendor statements, correct discrepancies, and help prevent delayed payments.
• Review payment runs for accuracy and assist with payment reconciliation.
• Monitor aging reports and key supplier accounts to identify risks early.
• Look for recurring AP issues and recommend practical process improvements.
• Work closely with Procurement and internal teams to resolve purchase order and invoice mismatches.

Ideal Candidate:

• Strong accounts payable experience, including vendor escalations and complex issue resolution.
• Hands-on experience with an ERP platform such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, or a comparable system.
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Contract Pay: $25 to $28 an hour, depending on experience.

Pay Details: $25.00 to $28.00 per hour
