About the Role:

The Accounts Payable Specialist plays an important role in supporting the College's financial operations by managing accounts payable and purchase card (PCard) processes. This position reviews and processes invoices and payments, maintains supporting documentation, assists employees and vendors with financial questions, and supports the College's PCard program.

What You''ll Do:

  • Manage day-to-day accounts payable processes, including reviewing and entering invoices, verifying supporting documentation, and processing check, ACH, and credit card payments.
  • Maintain accurate payment and vendor information, including TIN matching for W-9s and voiding or reissuing accounts payable items when needed.
  • Provide responsive support to employees and vendors by answering questions about vendor accounts, payments, and College financial procedures.
  • Support the College's PCard program by ordering cards, training users, adjusting card limits, and ensuring monthly statements are reported in the College's accounting system.
  • Support other Business Office operations, including serving as backup for cash receipt processing and assisting with other needs as assigned.

Qualifications:

What We''re Looking For

We're looking for someone who is organized, accurate, and service-oriented and who can help keep the College's accounts payable processes running smoothly. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with financial information, managing detailed processes and deadlines, and assisting others with questions along the way.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two-year accounting or business degree or three years of Accounts Payable experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Banner Finance Software
  • Proficiency using 10-key calculator

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient organizational, oral and written skills
  • Must maintain confidentiality
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
