Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Kernersville, NC

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist in Kernersville, NC to join our growing accounting team. This role is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice processing, payment management, and vendor support, while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience in accounts payable, and the ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies efficiently. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting overall operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and post daily invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Manage freight invoice processing using TMS software
  • Execute weekly check runs and payment processing
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issues
  • Process vendor invoices (including international suppliers such as Grass Canada)
  • Set up and maintain new supplier accounts and documentation
  • Assist with month-end close activities and reconciliations
  • Maintain organized filing of invoices and payment records
  • Generate regular and ad hoc reports as requested
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency
  • Perform additional accounting duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Previous experience in accounts payable or accounting support
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with TMS (Transportation Management Systems)
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
