SUMMARY: This position is assigned to the State Accounting Office (SAO), functioning within the Idaho Military Division (IMD). The primary purpose of this position is to provide analysis, validation, reconciliation, and processing of accounting transactions involving the full range of accounting services associated with obligations and disbursements for the IMD.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS (attach as a supporting document in Luma):
(1) Must have and maintain a valid and unrestricted state issued driver's license (from any state). Provide your driver's license number, issuing state, license expiration date, and the full name specified on the license. (Do not provide a copy of your driver's license.)
(2) Must have, or be eligible to obtain and maintain a favorable NACI/T1 Federal Background Investigation. If a selected candidate does not have a current favorable NACI/T1, as a condition of employment he/she must submit to the investigation process immediately upon hire/appointment. (At a minimum, a favorable suitability determination by the State Security Manager or OPM is required prior to appointment into this position.)
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Must have 18 months' of experience performing work related to the knowledge requirements below. Submit a paragraph for each knowledge requirement below that demonstrates the required experience and describes competence in applying the knowledge. Attach responses as a supporting document in Luma. Education and training may be used to offset experience.
TRAINEE APPLICANTS: Applicants who cannot meet the minimum requirements for the full grade may apply as a Trainee. KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
(1) Describe your knowledge of a broad range of accounting methods, procedures, and techniques and your ability to implement knowledge to ensure that expenditures comply with authorized budget amounts, administrative restrictions, and proper accounting structure.
(2) Describe your knowledge of relationships in accounting systems, fund sources, agencies, and guidelines to accurately review financial transactions and how you apply that knowledge to resolve problems of varying difficulty to reconcile financial transactions.
(3) Describe your skill in using accounting and agency knowledge to provide thorough and efficient customer service.
(4) Describe your skill and ability to use automated accounting and reporting systems, automated accounting equipment, and common software applications such as Excel and query reporting programs.
(5) Describe your knowledge of accounts payable duties to examine accounts, trace transactions, identify sources of discrepancy, and provide guidance to resolve/adjust accounts.
