Perform a variety of diversified duties such as: serve as main contact for students with outstanding account receivable (AR) accounts; prepare AR statements, letters, and other correspondence to students; balance AR accounts monthly; and assist in other related business office duties.

Essential Job Functions

Assist the Financial Aid Department with student accounts receiving financial aid from several different sources; transfer charges, verify, and balance student accounts so that financial aid refund and other refund checks may be processed on a timely basis.

Analyze student records after processing FATR and FATP reports for refund processing.

Clear excess aid accounts monthly.

Manage debt setoff process and submit file to North Carolina Department of Revenue.

Prepare monthly Accounts Receivable reconciliation reports.

Establish and distribute AR statements to students each semester; send follow-up letters as needed.

Prepare and submit refund select enrollment and disbursement files to third party provider.

Manage annual reporting of Form 1098-T in accordance with institutional and federal guidelines.

Manage escheat process according to federal, state, and institutional policies.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein and as assigned by the Controller.

Minimum Requirements

An Associate degree in accounting or business plus 1 - 3 years relevant work experience.

Preferred

A Bachelor's degree in accounting or business; 1 - 3 years relevant work experience; Colleague training; and Career Readiness Credential.
