Accounting Supervisor Position Description

Reports To: Controller
About the Role
Our Client is seeking a hands-on Accounting Supervisor to oversee daily accounting operations and partner with their Controller. You will lead the accounting staff, manage month-end close, oversee inventory reconciliations, and support payroll, audits, and tax reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise staff, answer technical questions, and guide workflow
- Financial Close: Prepare and review journal entries, conduct inventory counts/reconciliations, and generate month-end reports.
- Tax & Compliance: Prepare sales & use tax returns, enforce internal controls, and maintain strict data confidentiality.
- Process Improvement: Analyze financial options, assist with corporate accounting initiatives, and lead special projects.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2+ years of accounting experience with direct reports.
- Proven financial reporting skills, detail orientation, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to travel as needed.
Preferred:
- CPA/CMA license (or eligibility to sit for exams).
- Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP software.
Compensation:
- · Base salary up to $100,000 – commensurate with extent of relevant experience
- · Bonus of 40%
