Accounting Supervisor
A growing healthcare services organization is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to lead a team of accounting professionals and oversee the full-cycle accounting function. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys mentoring teams, improving processes, and partnering with leadership in a fast-paced environment.
Reporting to the Director of Accounting, this individual will play a key role in financial close, reporting, compliance, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment
- Delegate responsibilities while maintaining oversight of critical accounting functions
- Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and support employee development
- Effectively lead professionals with varying backgrounds, experience levels, and work styles
Accounting & Financial Close
Oversee full-cycle accounting activities including:
General ledger maintenance
Journal entries
Account reconciliations
Accruals and prepaids
Fixed assets
Revenue and expense recognition
Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
Review financial statements and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness
Analyze financial results and investigate variances
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and review financial reports for senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
- Support external audits and assist with audit requests
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
- Identify and implement process improvement initiatives
Business Partnership
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams on accounting-related matters
- Communicate financial results, risks, and recommendations to management
- Present financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong full-cycle accounting expertise
- 3+ years of accounting experience within a Management Services Organization (MSO)
- 2+ years of experience leading or supervising accounting teams
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with Sage Intacct and advanced Excel skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Hands-on leadership style with strong technical accounting knowledge
