Accounting SpecialistPay: Starting at $20.00 per hour Penmac Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist for a client company in the Springfield area. This position plays an important role in supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with payroll functions, and helping ensure timely and accurate reporting. The ideal candidate will have prior accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a professional office environment.Requirements for the Accounting Specialist
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of three years of accounting experience
- Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Experience with accounting and ERP software
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Accounting Specialist Responsibilities
- Review and support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
- Process invoices, payments, credits, and customer billings accurately and on time
- Assist with account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closing activities
- Monitor aging reports and assist with collections and payment discrepancies
- Reconcile company credit cards and balance sheet account
- Assist with inventory transactions, reconciliations, and audits
- Enter customer orders and support customer invoicing
- Prepare financial, statistical, and management report
- Provide administrative support and assist with additional projects as needed
Work Environment
- Office-based position with occasional visits to warehouse or production areas
- Typical Monday through Friday schedule
