Position Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial records. This role handles a mix of general ledger activities, reconciliations, and transactional accounting while assisting with month-end close and reporting.
Accounting Specialist Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day accounting transactions, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- The Accounting Specialist will assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and analyze financial reports and supporting schedules
- The Accounting Specialist will ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Assist with audit preparation and respond to documentation requests
- The Accounting Specialist will support process improvements and special accounting projects
Qualifications of the Accounting Specialist Role
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1–2 years of accounting or finance experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems/ERP software
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
